JFK
Philly: Hi i’m Philly.
McKenna: And I’m McKenna.
P: And we’re two peas in a podcast.
M: Today we are going to be talking about JFK’s assassination and all the conspiracies around it.
P: Alright.
M: Lit.
P: I’m ready. do wanna go first or..
M: I mean yes.
P: Alright.
M: Ok so first off for those of you who have been living under a rock your entire life.
P: Yea you’re right.
M: John F. Kennedy, president of the United States was assassinated in Dallas, Texas on November 22 1963. And really still no one to this day has a definitive answer why or like who did it or like the purpose behind it but we have a couple ideas. So my first one is just like the government ok. And it's called the military industrial complex. So basically during this time, during 1964 we were about to go to war with vietnam we were still trying to get out of the cold war with Russia.
P: He did a really good job of handling that, got to hand it to him. Tip my hat to him.
M: Yea I mean he avoided the Cuban missile crisis.
P: Bay of Pigs was a flop but...
M: Well everyone fails sometimes.
P: You win some you lose some.
M: Thats right. So basically we are about to go into war with Vietnam and John F. Kennedy, there were rumors that he did not want to like he was not ready to go into the war, he didn’t want people to fight and have to die for their country and so this made a lot of people in the defense the department mad and the pentagon mad and people involved in the industrial- military industrial complex mad because they make tons of money when we go to war. Like billions of dollars because of all the armor the soldiers are going to need, the weaponry, all the big tanks everything, the people that fly the big um- airplanes out there, couldn’t think of the word.
P: Had to act it out so you could think it out, so could you could think it out.
M: Well yes and the fact that JFK didn’t want to do any of this stuff and he was trying to stop and get us out of the cold war made them upset like that means they’re going to make less money and they don’t want someone in the white house who is going to be running the government that way and so I think.
P: In a peaceful way. How dare he?
M: I know like what america not in a war?
P: America minding their own business?
M: What?
P: Who would have ever thought?
M That is just wild it's just like everyone who wants to make money off of people suffering.
P: Wild thoughts by Rihanna and DJ Khaled.
M: Come on.
P: Continue i'm sorry.
M: So I don’t know if like, I wouldn’t say like the government directly hired Lee Harvey Oswald to assassinate JFK.
P: I feel like that is a reach.
M: I mean it definitely is a big reach but I feel like with the new documents that have just come out there is evidence that shows the CIA knew Lee Harvey Oswald was a threat to JFK’s life when he was in Dallas, but they didn’t do anything about it, they didn’t tell anyone they just kind of like uhhh let it happen maybe this is a good thing.
P: Maybe this will happen maybe it won’t we’ll play it out play. Play it by ear.
M: And that just makes me so mad like why does the government get to do this and no one blames them. Even today there have been 42 different groups, 82 different assassins and 214 different people at one point or another accused of JFK’s death. And we still don’t have a definitive answer. It is 2017 people.
P: It is 2017 we have the technology, figure it out.
M: I just don’t get it.
P: Kind of going off Lee Harvey Oswald thing. So people say the tra— trajec— tra— help me out here.
M: Trajectory.
P: Thank you. Of the bullets didn’t square with Oswald alone with his location on the 6th floor of the Texas School Book Depository. Yea that's right, and then others say a second gunman on the grassy knoll in Dealey Plaza also shot at JFK and the Warren Commission concluded that only three shots were fired all from behind the president which all kind of gets rid of the grassy knoll thing because there was only three shots and they all came from Lee Harvey so and they all came from the bolt action rifle and so in 1979 the congress house of assassinations committee conducted an investigation that disagreed with the Warren Commission.
M: Because the Warren Commission was a joke.
P: Right.
M: I mean let's be real here.
P: They said that the fourth shot that missed the president had come from a fence on the grassy knoll but also in 1982 a panel of the National Academy of Sciences said that the fourth shot was just background noise and static from the very iconic video and this was all according to time magazine but that the video that gets shown non stop.
M: The Zapruder film.
P: Yea they’re like no it's just background noise like that could just be backfire from a car or motorcycle it could just be static we were crazy it's not a fourth shot.
M: Let's just ignore the fact that there was probably two shooters.
P: And I think they said tis because that sound came and then there was a little bit of a wait time until the entail hit. but according to ABC news it wasn’t until the fourth shot from grassy knoll that could have easily been the shot that actually killed JFK.
M: You know that show bones I used to watch?
P: Yes.
M: There's an episode about this i’m telling you.
P: What did they say?
M: That there were two shooters the forensic science in that fantasy tv show proved it so if you want to go by those facts..
P: I mean that scripted show that you know the government probably regulates, bet you didn’t think about that.
M: I didn’t.
P: Yep I bet you didn’t. That's fine.
M: I think what really blows my mind is that here we are in 2017 with no definitive answer.
P: And people are still talking about it and I feel if you asked most of America there going to be like yea..
M: Yea according to a poll by the post 62% of americans believe there is a conspiracy around JFK’s death, like the facts they are given are not all that there is to it. 62% of americans polled , what?
P: There is so much.
M: That's more than half.
P: There is too much unexplained like we can crack cold cases like its nothing and they're like oh yea this person did it. But the president gets assassinated and they’re like I don’t know, I don't know who did it.
M: We just aren’t going to investigate it…
P: We’ll just close the case, we might open it up later we’ll let you guys know.
M: Because we know we did it, so we don’t want you guys to know. We’ll have a riot on our hands, that would be no good.
P: But lets just go to war and we’ll figure it out.
M: Let's just make money.
P: Make money get turnt, don’t worry about the president being assassinated.
M: I wish I knew him, he seemed like he was an attractive man you know?
P: Yea. How tall was he?
M: How would I know that? Why would I know that?
P: I don’t know.
M: You could be worried about more important things Philly, honestly.
P: Ok ok alright look he’s gone, me asking how tall he is doesn’t matter anymore.
M: If you guys have any ideas, I mean there are obviously more conspiracies.
P: There are so many more and some of them are quite the reach.
M: But if you have more, maybe even some we have never heard of before let us know at Le Journal Live on Twitter or Facebook, whatever you use.
P: Yea hmu.
M: Alright we out.
P: We out.
M: I can’t get it to stop.
